Thanks for stopping by—I’m Tara.
I specialize in working with complex trauma. While trauma often refers to a single distressing event, complex trauma (sometimes called CPTSD) develops when harmful experiences occur repeatedly over time- especially in relationships where safety, care, or stability were missing. These prolonged experiences can skew how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world.
My work as a therapist is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. My history includes multiple adverse childhood experiences (ACEs: Take the test here) related to my mother’s mental illness. In 2014, she died by suicide. Walking my own path through grief and healing ultimately led me to this work and grounds my presence with clients in deep empathy, respect, and understanding.
I have studied the healing arts for decades, with particular emphasis on yoga, somatic therapies, and Buddhist psychology. My approach is collaborative and body-informed, integrating nervous system wisdom with each client’s inherent strengths and resilience.
Therapy is not something I do for you—it is something we create together. I will meet you where you are, and together we will co-create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and pace. You hold the power in your own healing journey. My role is to guide, support, and walk alongside you.
Comments from clients:
“Tara has amazing energy. There is something about her that allows you to be immediately comfortable talking to her. Tara really listens and is able to see quickly to the core of the issue. She is also very witty so its not all doom and gloom in your sessions. Tara is the best therapist you’ll ever have!” ~LC
“Tara is warm and empathetic, and I felt comfortable and safe speaking openly with her right away. Her calm, supportive presence allowed the work to unfold naturally in a grounded and compassionate space. Brainspotting with her was a powerful and meaningful experience. ~JD
“Something different about Tara is that she brings in my spirituality as a strength and an asset to be worked with. I feel like she sees and welcomes all parts of me and my story. And try the Brainspotting! It is so powerful and you can process stuff nonverbally if it is hard to talk about what you are working on.” ~BB
